About me

I'm a PhD student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, conducting research on the presence and ecology of pathogens in several species of bumble bees in the United States.

My previous research was focused on the Ethology and Ecology of social insects, including bumble bees, honey bees and termites. For my MSc Thesis I conducted research on the learning behavior of an African termite in the Soutpansberg mountains of South Africa.

Insects are not only my work but my hobby. Among other interests, they are the center of my enthusiasm for photography. I am still trying to get a good photo of a bumble bee in flight.
