Project Posting and Printed Portfolio
Due Dates and
Credit
that Can Be Earned Fall 2008
ALL extra credit projects involve posting reviews and
*substantial dialog
entries
in the Extra Credit Section of Moodle.
You are required to turn in a printed portfolio of your work for
evaluation by the virtual TA for ALL extra credit Projects. Extra
credit portfolios will be collected for evaluation three times
during the semester (see table below for details).
You must participate in extra credit projects throughout the
semester
to earn the full 6% extra credit.
You may submit extra credit projects worth 2% at the due date
before
the first exam, 2% at the due date before the second exam, and a final
2% at the due date before the final exam.
One project entry PLUS two dialog entries (if required for the
project) will earn you ONE PERCENT extra credit. If you want to earn
the 2% credit possible for a portfolio due date you will need to
complete TWO project entries PLUS submit FOUR *substantial dialog
entries.
If you wait until after the first exam to start your extra
credit
projects you can earn a total of 4% extra credit for the semester. If
you wait to start until after the second exam you may earn a total of
2%
extra credit for the semester. See the table of due dates below for
specific instructions concerning due dates.
You may submit one of these two "bonus" extra credit
projects:
The "Diver Illustration Interpretation" project can
be
submitted for a "bonus" extra credit point. See the directions. This
project requires two dialog entries.
The "The Lorax Interpretation" project can be
submitted
for a "bonus" extra credit point. See the directions. This project
requires two dialog entries.
Submit your COMPLETE portfolio AND all
previous
evaluation sheets each time you turn in your portfolio.
Your COMPLETE portfolio plus your answers
to the three final evaluation questions must be turned in
at lecture on Monday Dec. 8 for you to
receive all your extra
credit
for
the semester.

IMPORTANT POINTS TO CONSIDER:
*Tutor/Tutee, and Speech-Seminar projects do not require
dialog
entries, however reports for these two project types must be posted in
the Extra Credit Folder of Moodle by the mini-deadline due
date.
*Substantial: of considerable size or amount; having
considerable worth or value; real; strong; solid
*Waiting until the last minute to post your projects may
result in an
inadequate number or quality of dialog entries, resulting in loss of
credit for your projects.
