Abbott Laboratories
supports BIOCH 360
Biochemistry 360 was introduced as an Advanced
Composition (or Comp II) course in 1996. Dr. Richard Gumport applied to
Abbott Laboratories in 2000 for grant support to improve the course.
Abbott Laboratories funding has allowed the Biochemistry Department to hire a TA
from the English Department, designated as the Abbott Laboratories
Science-writing TA. Steve Lamos, Ph.D. candidate in Writing Studies and
Director of the Writers' Workshop, served in that position from 2001 through
2003. The 2004 Abbott Laboratories Science-writing TA is Jessica Bannon.
