The
Molecular Biophysics Training Program at the University of Illinois
in Urbana-Champaign
|
Fostering Diversity in Graduate Training
The Molecular Biophysics Training Program is committed to enhancing
diversity in science by creating an inclusive environment for
all minority students. Our faculty recognize the need to recruit
and support significant numbers of talented people of color for
graduate training in the sciences, to ensure a growing diversity
of highly qualified individuals in an increasingly professional
and technological society.
The faculty of the Molecular Biophysics Training Program are actively
involved in recruiting students from diverse backgrounds, through
participation in workshops, recruiting visits and involvement
in national student conferences, including the Annual Biomedical
Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) (http://www.abrcms.org/geninfo.asp),
the annual conference of the Society for Advancement of Chicanos
and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) (http://www.sacnas.org/NationalConference.html),
and the annual conference of the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program
(http://www.omsa.uiuc.edu/mcnair/NRCnGSF.html)
.
For the biological sciences at the University of Illinois, interested
students can contact OURS (Organization for Under-Represented
Scientists) on campus, at rdrgzwtk@uiuc.edu
