Welcome to Quesha's Article! |
Hello, my name is Quesha, and I belong to the Parkside Family Resource Center, otherwise known as the Parkside Mansard Square Boys and Girls Club. The Club is located in Champaign, Illinois. The Club has many purposes. Many kids come mainly because it is fun. Others come for staff to help them with their homework. The Club has many extracurricular activities. We do alot of our BOAST activities at the University of Illinois in Champaign. For example, we dissect frogs, make rockets, learn about sound, and make hot air balloons. We did many others fun things, but if I put it all down, it would take up all the page.
When we dissected the frogs,we had safety goggles on. We had many different kinds of instruments to dissect the frogs with. We also had partners. My partner's name was Donna. She works for BOAST. I thought it was disgusting to dissect a frog, but Donna enjoyed it for some reason. "I've always wanted to become a doctor." she said. It was gross, but fun.
This is Kevin, a BOAST staff member, and Vonshay, a BOAST participant dissecting a frog.
I hope you have learned alot about BOAST and what we do.
