Hi, my name is Ron McNair. I am an astronaut. Today, which is Thursday, I am going to outer space. First, I have to get dressed in my space suit. I was in the space shuttle that exploded in space. I wish that I could play professional football.

I was born in 1950 a long time ago. When I as an adult, I played the saxophone really good. I died when the space shuttle blew up. People missed me. Then, people named a school after me.

I was smart because I studied and studied and because I was a hard worker. I was 33 years old when I went into space. I must have watched space cartoons and movies about space. I studied very, very hard about astronauts and what they do in space.

I died in New York when I was 44 years old. After I died, they made a statue of me in Baltimore. It looks like me on a flat stnad with a very long beautiful dress.
