Dragonfly
Availability: These need to be
ordered and will be available after spring break.
Housing: Dragonfly nympths are
cannibalistic and should be maintained separately. They can be
kept in
aquaria, small jars of water, or glasses of water. The nymphs
keep
satisfactorily at 50 to 88 degrees F, but do not place them in direct
sunlight as overheating may occur. You should some sand and
plastic or real aqautic plants or twigs for them to hold on to
underwater. Some rocks for them to hide behind would be
appreciated as well.
Food: They will eat Daphnia, or larvae of various
Diptera (mosquito, house fly), or Mayfly larvae.
