Policy on Cheating and Plagiarism
Welcome to IB 335, Systematics of Plants (formerly PB 260 and IB 260, Systematics of Flowering Plants)! Our first laboratory begins on Tuesday, January 15th, Room 323 Natural History Building, at either 1:00 PM or 3:00 PM, depending upon your schedule. Our first lecture begins on Wednesday, January 16th, in room 106B1 Engineering Hall. Prior to the first lab, please purchase the coursepak "Systematics of Plants, Class Notes & Laboratory Exercises" at TIS Bookstore. This coursepak is required for your first lab.
If you have a conflict with any scheduled lecture or laboratory exam this semester (including the finals!), contact Prof. Robertson immediately. University policy gives you a week to do this, and you will be informed of the examination schedule during the first lecture. See us or send us an email explaining your situation and we will get back in touch with you.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Do not copy from others! On the quizzes and assignments that you will receive this semester, we state explicitly that your final (written or drawn) responses must be an individual effort and anything to the contrary is a MAJOR infraction of academic integrity. Cheating and plagiarism will not be tolerated! The penalties are severe and may include expulsion from the university! At the very least you will get a failing grade for the course and a written notice in your university file. For more information, see the Code of Policies and Regulations Applying to All Students. And be aware that "Ignorance of [this] rule is never a defense."
