January 29 - What can I do with a B.S. in Integrative Biology?
We will discuss how to prepare and market yourself for a job after graduation with your B.S. in IB. Opportunities in education, industry, government and non-profit organizations will be shared.

February 5 - Forensic Biology & Cytology
Two guest speakers: A UI alumnus in Biology will share how his course work prepared him for his current position with the Illinois Sate Police Forensic Biology unit. The Anatomical pathology manager at Carle Hospital will speak about job opportunities in cell biology.

February 12 - Interested in Genetics?
Two guest speakers: A Genetic Counselor from Carle Hospital will offer career advice, and a professor in animal biology/anthropology will discuss his work in evolutionary genomics and population genetics and how it led to discovering new data about the first Native North Americans.

February 19 - Veterinary Medicine
Mary Kelm, a pre-vet academic advisor, will answer your questions about the UIUC school of Vet Med. Also, a pre-vet student will share how her IB major has prepared her for this career.

February 26 -IB major Ð after the core courses
What questions do you have about understanding degree requirements? How do you choose among advanced courses? What minors can be completed with an IB degree? What relevant courses are available outside of IB? This workshop is targeted for sophomores/juniors in IB.

March 4 - Summer Opportunities for IB Majors
Learn about the myriad of summer opportunities that await you! IB students who have Òbeen thereÓ will help you with the whatÕs, whenÕs, and how-toÕs of finding and applying for summer jobs, internships and other IB-related experiences.

March 11 - Freshman meeting in 140 Burrill (note different meeting room)
Get answers to your IB-related questions! Learn about the IB major and curriculum, how to declare the major, how to make the most of your summer and more.

March 25 - IB Opportunities in C/U and Surrounding Communities
There are many near-by opportunities for IB majors! Come to this workshop to learn about what and where they are and how you and your community will benefit by your involvement.

April 1 - Graduate School
Learn about the process for deciding about, applying to and experiencing graduate school. WeÕll visit with a graduate student and go to their lab to learn about Ôthe day in the lifeÕ of a student who chose to pursue an advanced degree in the life sciences.

April 8 - Preparing to take the GRE
The Graduate Record Exam is required for admission to most graduate programs. WeÕll discuss how to prepare for the exam and weÕll review the scores that graduate programs consider of their applicants.
