Research Interests:
Comparative analysis of biofuel crops including Miscanthus (Miscanthus x giganteus), switchgrass and natural prarie.

Education:
2007       B.Sc., UIUC (Integrative Biology, minor in Environmental Fellows Program)


Research Experience:
2005-7     Photosynthesis and Atmospheric Change Laboratory
                • Developed, conducted and investigated biomass energy, specifically Miscanthus x. giganteus, as an energy source for small scale use
                • Established a biomass energy system in a campus building
                • Monitored and quantified differences in cost and carbon budgets of natural gas, corn GRAIN and biomass pellets
                • Presented study and study results at the Environmental Horizons Conference • Successfully wrote and applied for competitive funding grants
