Be Cautious With Sensitive Data
In a University setting, employees often come across various types of sensitive data such as Social Security Numbers, financial information and student records. It is every employee's duty to safeguard sensitive data. Before and after you start working with sensitive data, it is important to determine if you absolutely need the data, if you need to retain a copy, and if it is really necessary to put the data in a format that is easily lost or stolen, such as print copies, or digital copies on a USB drive or a laptop. CITES provides a wide variety of resources to help you protect sensitive data.
