Master of Science in Biology

The Master of Science in Biology degree program provides graduate students with an alternative to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program. The M.S. in Biology allows students to increase their knowledge of biology and become involved with graduate-level research in biology without the long-term commitment of a Ph.D. program. The work is personally designed by each student in consultation with an adviser. Breadth of training is encouraged.

This program can be tailored to an individual's needs and specification. The flexibility permitted in the curriculum should not be confused with a lack of rigor. Students in the program are expected to maintain a grade-point average of 3.0 (A=4.0) or higher in appropriate 400- and 500-level courses.

Deadline for application is February 15 for fall admission. Admission is offered for fall semester only.
