    The average (mean) on the final exam was 78.7%. Grades will be posted in the next two days. Have a great summer.

    Following my standard practice in past years, a copy of a previous Final Exam will NOT be posted. You should assume that the style of the 40 questions will be exactly the same as has been used in each of your other exams and practice exams that you have taken this semester. The exam booklet will be collected at the final exam.

    The Final Exam will be held Monday, May 5 from 8:00-11:00am.
    Final Exam Room assignments will be as follows:
    Students whose last names begin with letters from A-M will take their exams in Altgeld Hall, Rm. 314.
    Students whose last names begin with letters from N-Z will take their exams in Altgeld Hall, Rm. 245.

    The deadline for requesting a Final Exam Conflict is Wednesday, 4/30/08 by 5:00pm. On Thursday, May 1st, I will email those who have requested a conflict and let them know when/where their exam will be scheduled.

    Carolina Soto will hold her optional review session for the Final Exam Wednesday, 4/30/08 evening from 6-7:00p in the CLSL Auditorium, B102.

    March 31, 2008: Dr. Kranz will have office hours from 4 to 5pm on Tuesday, April 1, and NOT 1 to 2pm.

    The third exam will be held this Thursday night, April 3rd, from 7-9:00pm.
    Exam Room assignments will be the same as they were for Exam I and II:
    Students whose last names begin with letters from A-L will take their exams in Bevier Hall, Rm. 180.
    Students whose last names begin with letters from M-Z will take their exams in Mumford Hall, Rm. 103.

    Carolina will be holding an optional review session on the night before the exam in CLSL B102 (the CLSL Auditorium). On April 2nd starting at 6:00 PM.

    Due to a problem with question number 11, we are now accepting all answers for this question. We had meant the value cited in the question, for IL-4 levels, to be 1.5 microgram/l (not 1.5 gm/l). The incorrect value made it impossible to answer.

    The second exam will be held next Thursday night, March 6th, from 7-9:00pm.

    Students whose last names begin with letters from M-Z will take their exams in Mumford Hall, Rm. 103.

    There will be no class on the day of the exam, March 6th.

    It was brought to my attention that in Question 2, the answer could be either C or D (in the textbook they discuss macrophages as part of the mononuclear system, pg 36). We have now rerun the score sheets with this correction; those who selected answer C should see an additional point added to your total.

    The average (mean) on the first exam was 30.86 out of 40 (77%). The range was 14 to 40. The individual statistics for each question have been examined to assess potential problems, and none were observed.

    Carolina will be holding optional review sessions on the night before each exam in CLSL B102 (the CLSL Auditorium). The dates for those will be Feb 6, March 5, and April 2 from 6:00 PM. This is in addition to the optional review that Dr. Kranz will be giving on the exam days during the normal class time.

    Carolina's office hours have been updated to Monday: 1-2pm, Wednesday: 10am-12pm, Thursday: 1-2pm, and Friday: 9-11am in the MCB Learning Center, 425 Natural History Building.

    The 3 midterm exams will be held Feb. 7, March 6, and April 3 from 7-9:00pm in both of the following rooms:

    • Bevier Hall Rm. 180
    • Mumford Hall Rm. 103
    You will be assigned a room before the exams.
    The location of the Final Exam, which will be held on May 5 from 8-11:00a, has yet to be determined
